AYSO Region 75 – Tournament Application Procedure
All Region 75 tournament teams must follow the procedures below to receive a Region check (if applicable) and an official roster signed by the Regional Commissioner.
Failure to follow these procedures will result in denial of approval to attend the tournament.
Step 1: Initial Notification
Before entering a team into any tournament, the coach must notify the Region 75 Tournament Coordinator by email at least 30 days before the tournament’s registration fee due date (not the date of the tournament).
If there is no Tournament Coordinator, the coach must notify the Region 75 Coach Administrator.
Email addresses will be posted on the Region 75 website.
Step 2: Collecting Fees
Coaches are responsible for collecting tournament fees from parents.
Checks must be made payable to: “AYSO Region 75 Whittier”
If the tournament only accepts credit card payments by the region, arrangements must be made in advance with the Region Treasurer due to possible processing fees.
Step 3: Submitting Required Documents
All of the following documents must be submitted at least 30 days before the registration fee is due:
A. Copy of the official tournament rules (usually found on the tournament’s website)
b. Completed Region 75 Tournament Request Form
c. Completed paper tournament application form (if applicable)
d. Referee information form (if bringing a referee team)
Tournaments can be found at: https://ayso.org/ayso-tournaments/
Step 4: Approval Process
1. The Tournament Coordinator will verify whether the tournament is an AYSO-approved event.
2. The Coordinator will contact the necessary board members for internal approval.
3. The payment method will be determined based on the tournament’s requirements, with guidance from the Treasurer.
4. Once all approvals are in place, the official signed roster will be provided.
Conduct Expectations:
All Region 75 participants – coaches, players, parents, and referees – are expected to:
Represent Region 75 with good sportsmanship
Cooperate with tournament officials and referees
Maintain positive and supportive sideline behavior (coaching should be instructional only)
Additional Notes:
Tournaments must not interfere with regular or Spring Select practices and/or games.
Teams may purchase optional items (e.g., bags, jackets, etc.) at their own cost – either through the Region or independently.
