The seven required AYSO Executive Board positions descriptions. This is not to say these are the only important positions in our region. The seven are simply the positions that are required to be filled by a region at all times. There are other VERY IMPORTANT position within the region also. Please step-up and let's be sure they are all filled!
Executive Board Descriptions
Regional Commissioner
Serve as master communications contact for the Region covering website, mail and telephone
Provide needed Region wide communications to families
Assist Region staff with technical system assistance as needed
Assistant Regional Commissioner
Represent Division teams and families in planning meetings
Provide appropriate communication and guidance to Division teams
Assist Region Commissioner and other Region staff as needed
Registrar
Plans and carries out the annual registration of all players including setting up program registrations, overseeing our scholarship program, and collecting and refunding fees.
Treasurer
Handles the financial activity of the Region and its paperwork, including savings, paying bills, and overseeing deposits.
Coach Administrator
Implements the AYSO National Coaching Program at the Region level, including training, development, certification, coach support, and more.
Referee Administrator
Implements the AYSO National Referee Program at the Region level, including implementing training and development, certification and more.
Safety Director
Ensures safety across the region by overseeing maintenance of soccer equipment, nets, fields and facilities as well as making sure insurance and incident forms are properly submitted.
Child and Volunteer Protection Advocate (CVPA)
They follow the guidelines of the Safe Haven™ program including gathering applications for volunteer positions, screening applicants and upholding state laws that protect children. Continuously track coach certifications and notify of ineligibility for non-compliance.
Assistant Regional Commissioner
Represent Division teams and families in planning meetings. Provide appropriate communication and guidance to Division teams. Assist Region Commissioner and other Region staff as needed
Regional Board Serving Members Descriptions
Secretary
Attend Region Board Meetings and prepare minutes of action items and important discussions. Serve as Parliamentarian as needed. Assist RC as requested with correspondence.
Uniform Coordinator and Assistant
Evaluate vendor options, recommend uniform selection, and establish needed delivery dates to hand out uniforms. Coordinate with Select and EXTRA Coordinators regarding needed uniforms.
Social Media
Establish appropriate social media account(s), monitor contacts, and respond as appropriate. Provide postings highlighting Region activities and achievements. Create event notifications as needed.
Fields Coordinator
Coordinate initial field layout marking each season. Evaluate condition of all field equipment at end of each season and arrange for needed replacements.
Practice Field Coordinator and Assistant
Develop master layout of needed practice slots based on space allocation. Establish on line Practice Scheduler and advise coaches of usage.
Select Program Coordinator and Assistant
Develop calendar and procedures for all phases of the program; coordinate all activities. Coordinate Region staff and coaches regarding uniforms and field needs. Monitor teams for demonstration of positive representation; maintain list of infractions
Regional Auditor
Serve as a non voting member of the Region Board per National position restriction. Routinely monitor financial reports for compliance with adopted budget. Annually prepare Audit report using National Organization format.
Extra Program Coordinator
Represent all teams at Section and Circuit planning meetings. Coordinate program with Region staff following Region Guidelines and all other requirements. Monitor teams for demonstration of positive representation; maintain list of infractions
Coach Instructor
Regions scheduler and instructor of coach courses.
Referee Instructor
Regions scheduler and instructor of referee courses.
Team Parent Coordinator
The AYSO volunteer position of team parent coordinator is intended to serve as a liaison between the regional commissioner, regional coach administrator, other regional board and staff members, and the individual team parents.
Picture Day Coordinator
The AYSO volunteer position of picture day coordinator is intended to work as a liaison between the regional board and the vendor contracted to provide pictures for regional teams and players.
Website Manager
Annually evaluate all information on website; delete or update as needed. Routinely update site with pertinent information regarding Region and other AYSO information.
Division Coordinator
Be the primary contact for coaches and families in the Division. Communicate frequently with coaches and families to provide important
information.
