Player Equipment

Prior to the start of all games, the referee will inspect all players ensuring compliance with all requirements.  Players will not be allowed to play until properly equipped.

What equipment will my child need?

Soccer equipment includes the following items:

Practice Sessions
·         Comfortable clothes and socks
·         Cleats are recommended but not required.  Athletic shoes may be worn
·         Shin guards (required) Please note that the player's shin guards must be completely covered by the socks (i.e., the socks must be worn over the shin guards, NOT under the shin guards).
·         An appropriately sized soccer ball (recommended but not required)
·         Water bottle

Game Days
·         Uniform (supplied by region)
·         Cleats are recommended but not required.  Athletic shoes may be worn

Metal cleats are not allowedToe cleats are also not allowed (i.e., a shoe with a cleat right at the toe, such as a baseball or football cleat).

Jewelry Policy

Players shall not wear anything that is dangerous to themselves or other players.

All items of jewelry (necklaces, rings, bracelets, watches, earrings etc.) are forbidden and must be removed prior to the start of practice or games.  Using tape to cover jewelry is not permitted.

Players shall not wear metal clips, bobby pins, barrettes, charms etc. in their hair.  All items must be removed prior to the start of practice or games.

Casts & Braces Policy


Players shall not be allowed to practice or participate in any match with any type of cast or splint. Removal of any type of cast or splint at the field or surrounding area in order to participate shall disqualify the team member from practice or match participation.

Casts or braces cannot be covered with bubble wrap, foam, or any other material which would allow them to play.

In fact, players with a cast cannot return to practices or games (after the cast has been removed) until a written doctor’s release is submitted to the Regional Safety Director. Parent’s cannot authorize or accept liability for a player’s return – AYSO requires us to receive a medical doctor’s permission allowing the child to return.
