and socks).
When does the season start?
Play begins September 6th.
When
does practice start?
Practice begins the first week of August.
When
does the season end?
For our U-6 and U-8 divisions play will end the weekend before Thanksgiving.
All other divisions may have play-offs beyond that date.
What equipment do the children need?
Shin guards and the proper size ball for their age. Cleats are highly
recommended but not necessary.
If play begins in September, why do we register now?
We register
players in May and June to allow us to find coaches, referees and
all other staff positions based on our enrollment.
When
will we hear from our coach?
The teams are formed in Mid-July and provided to the selected coaches.
They will contact you by months end. Practices begin on the first
Monday of August.
Can I be a Coach?
YES! If you are interested in coaching, assistant coaching or refereeing,
please notify us at registration and we will contact you regarding
training and certification. All coaches, assistants and referees
are background checked by AYSO National. A copy of your information
can be provided to you upon request.
How much do I get paid for coaching?
An invaluable amount of smiles are yours! All AYSO positions are
held by volunteers.
What
days and times do I practice?
This information is based on the availability of your coach. Practices
are generally M-W or T-TH. The younger your child the earlier the
practice time beginning at 5:00pm.
I have two children one year apart in age;
can they be on the same team?
If their ages fall within the division requirements, they
will be placed on the same team.
Do boys and girls play together on the same
teams?
Yes! Only our U-6 division is co-ed. All other divisions are same
gender teams and competition.
I
have three children, can they all practice at the same time and
dates?
Many parents have multiple children within the program. It is next
to impossible to insure that they will practice at the same time
or day. Because the teams are chosen blindly and coaches determine
their practice dates based on their personal schedules, we can not
guarantee or promise that condition.
What days are the games?
Games are played on Saturdays @ Sierra Field. In U-12 and up divisions
your team may have to travel to another Region for play.
What time are the games?
Games begin at 9:00am. Each division plays a different amount of
time. Games are generally over by 4:00pm.
What kind of fundraiser do you have?
The fundraiser is determined by the Fundraising Coordinator and
is selected to the best yield for the Region.
Why must I participate?
The cost per player for our program is considerably higher than
the registration costs. In order to maintain our pricing, we must
fundraise and solicit Community Sponsors.
What other costs does the region have?
There are many other expenses that the Region must cover that do
not appear obvious. Bathrooms, Lighting, Field equipment, team equipment,
volunteer training etc, etc...
My child has never play before, will they
get any playing time?
“Everyone Plays” is an AYSO tenant. All children will play a minimum
of half the game regardless of ability!Should you require any additional
information regarding AYSO please visit their website: www.soccer.org
